Friends of Scouting

It is the mission, in part, of the Five Rivers Council to provide the opportunity to participate in Scouting programs to every young person who is eligible. However, in order to do so, we need to provide every aspect of program support, including funding. Take a look at the 2014 FOS Brochure!

Because of your gift in 2013

  • Over 3,100 youth were registered as Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers.
  • 62 young men earned  Scouting’s highest rank – the Eagle Scout Award.
  • 136 Cub Scouts earned their Arrow of Light – the highest award in Cub Scouting.
  • Almost 2,700 merit badges were earned, opening doors to hobbies, skills and career interests that last beyond the Trail to Eagle.
  • 850 Scouts created lifetime memories at one of our summer camps - Brulé and Gorton.
  • Over 1,340 Cub Scouts advanced in rank.
  • 1,152 Adult Leader volunteers provided quality program to our youth ranking us within the National Top 10% of Councils for Adult Leaders Trained.
  • Over 300 Scouts and Scouters enhanced their skills at the University of Scouting.
  • Over 394 Cub Scouts attended summer camp at WEBELOS Resident Camp and 9 different Day Camps throughout the council.
  • The Scout Shop was remodeled to provide better service.
