PASSPORT TO ADVENTURE

CAMPBELL CAMPGROUND

What is Cub Scout Day Camp?

Cub Scout Day Camp is a 4 day, adventure filled program that is held at several locations throughout the Five Rivers Council. Day Camps are designed to meet the needs and interest of Cub Scouts by providing fun and exciting, age appropriate activities on a daily basis. Any currently registered Cub Scout and boy who graduates into grades 1-5 in June of 2018 can attend the Day Camp of their choice.

Typical activities included at most camps are:

  • BB & Archery Shooting
  • Swimming
  • Fishing
  • Crafts
  • Games & Sports
  • Nature and ecology.

What is the Day Camp Program?

The Day Camp program includes various activities such as crafts, archery, BB gun shooting, sports, nature, outdoor skills, ceremonies, games and other special presentations. A few camps are able to offer swimming and fishing. The letter you receive from the Day Camp Director will explain the camp program, rules and expectations prior to your arrival at the camp.

DEN AND PACK INVOLVEMENT

Day camp should be an adventure for the whole Pack. It is recommended that Packs send groups together to camp. Individuals are welcome but will have more fun with their friends.

What Do We Eat?

LUNCH!
Each day, all campers provide their own lunch. There will be a special day and meal for all campers and families, usually on Thursday. In most camp locations refrigeration is not available so be sure lunch items are non-perishable. Using mayonnaise or other spreads that are affected by heat are NOT Recommended! Coolers with ice will be provided.

Do I Wear My Cub Scout Uniform?

No, the Day Camp Uniform is the T-Shirt provided by the camp on the first day. Sneakers, shorts and a poncho may be appropriate depending on weather conditions. It is highly recommended that you also bring a canteen or water bottle. Each Camp Director will mail you additional information before your first day of camp.

How Are The Camps Regulated For Safety?

All Day Camps are under the direction and supervision of volunteers, certified by the Boy Scouts of America at a National Camping School. Health Officers are on duty while the camp is in session.

Day Camps operate under the safety and program standards of both the Boy Scouts of America and the Pennsylvania and New York State Health Department.

Information regarding the Permit to Operate a Children’s Camp or National Accreditation Standards can be obtained from:
