SUMMER AT CAMP BRULE

What is National Youth Leadership Training?

This course is an intense, challenging program designed to develop Unit leaders by providing an experience of fun, excitement, action and challenge in the concept leadership.  Participants will experience presentation, and patrol competition through a wide range of activities, games, and adventures.  They will work and play together as they put into action the best that Scouting has to offer. Five Rivers Council NYLT provides knowledge, skills, and experience that will benefit participants for their lifetime. This course is led by a staff of well–trained youth with extensive knowledge in leadership skills.  

What is the Purpose of NYLT?

  • To focus on the concepts of What a Leader must BE, What a leader Must KNOW, and What a leader must DO
  • To emphasize immediate application of learning in a fun environment.
  • To model a month in the life of an “Ideal” Unit.
  • To provide each participant with a toolbox of Leadership skills consisting of key course concepts
  • To operate according to the Scout Oath and the Scout Law
  • To have Fun!!!

Requirements:

  • Registered with a scout unit
  • Boy Scouts: 13 years of age and 1st class
  • Venturing: 14 years of age
  • One week long term camping (Summer Camp)
