WOOD BADGE

N3-375-19

Aug. 23-25 2019

and

Sept. 28-30 2019

at Camp Gorton

Wood Badge is the advanced leadership training course of the  BSA. Begun in 1919 by Lord Baden-Powell, founder of Scouting  & Wood Badge's first Course Director, it came to America in 1948. Wood Badge brings together leaders from all areas of Scouting and all levels of Scouting.

It draws upon the most current leadership models used by corporate America, academic circles, and successful outdoor leadership organizations. The leadership skills learned in this course may be used not only in Scouting, but your personal life as well as the workplace and other volunteer organizations.

Participants will take part in numerous presentations, discussions and activities that explore & advance their understanding of numerous topics in these 5 areas of leadership:

Living the Values

Bringing the Vision to Life

Models for Success

Tools of the Trade

Leading to Make a Difference

Earning those beads after the course!

The application phase involves the participant’s commitment to complete a set of personal goals (called a “ticket”) relating to his or her Scouting position. Completing the ticket provides participants the opportunity to put into action their Wood Badge experience and knowledge in order to deliver on Scouting’s promise and strengthen their unit or district program.
