This is the 16 hour Wilderness First Aid class required for any unit going to Philmont and strongly recommended for any unit going on high adventure or remote locations. This training will prepare youth and adults to care for almost any emergency that may occur on these outings. CPR is a required prerequisite for this course and will be available on Friday for any wishing to take it. If you have a valid CPR card from a recognized agency (American Red Cross, American Heart, ASHI, ECSI, etc) you will need to show it to the instructor at check in. This course does require a current medical form to attend. The certification is provided by ECSI in accordance with the National BSA contract with ESCI.

You must be at least 14 years of age to attend.

Certifications which will be earned upon completion of this weekend:

  • Wilderness First Aid (2 year certification)
  • Adult CPR with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) (2 year certification)
    • If you hold a current certification, bring your card. You need not recertify and can report by 8 am Sat. 25th, you must bring your card)
    • Epi-Pen (2 year certification)
    • Asthma Inhaler (2 year certification)
